This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Barry (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Datacom Systems Limited. The Application is used to track freight to be carried for Bowen & Pomeroy Pty Ltd (Bowens).
The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Application. Registration is not optional; you must register the application with Bowens for the application to work.
When you register with us and use the Application, you will generally provide (a) a username, password and other registration information; (b) or download or use applications from us; (c) information you provide us when you contact us for help; (d) information you enter into our system when using the Application, such as contact, job information, account and driver information, pictures and videos, and location data.
We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and information about our various products and services, or other products and services we feel may be of interest to you.
In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the Application including.
Barry uses your device's location data to geocode freight tracking events to provide Bowens details of where freight was processed. Your device may ask you to grant location access to Barry to allow this information to be captured. If you do not wish to provide this information you can deny Barry this permission when prompted.
Barry may also be configured to track your location while you are logged in to provide dispatchers and planners better situational awareness of all vehicles under their control. Your location will be displayed on a map to these authorised users, other drivers will not be able to see your location.
Bowens may also use this information for health and safety, and compliance reasons. Barry may prompt you to grant location access all of the time, even when the application is in the background after logging in, this is necessary to ensure Barry can track your location reliably.
The Application enables you to take pictures and upload these onto the Application. We will only use the pictures and videos in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
If you do not want to take pictures or videos, you can turn off your camera and video for the mobile application located in your account settings or in your mobile phone settings and/or within the mobile application.
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you’d like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us on the details below and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the User Provided Data may be required in order for the Application to function properly.
We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us on the details below. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees, contractors and suppliers who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavour to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information.

Due to the nature of the services that Bowens provide; in most situations it will be impracticable for an individual to deal with us on an anonymous basis. However, we will consider requests on a case by case basis.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the issue relates to a privacy concern or alleged breach by one of our affiliates, you may take your complaint to the relevant government authority responsible for Privacy.
